COMMERCIALIZATION OF 3PINT – MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SIMULTANEOUS REMOVAL OF PCB, CORROSIVE SULPHUR, ELEMENTAL SULFUR AND AGEING PRODUCTS FROM TRANSFORMER OILS

• Increasing reliability of transformers in power grids by reducing failure rates and power transformers carbon footprint are emerging problems of great interest in power industry. State of the art technologies for insulating liquids treatment can emit toxic substances, produce S8 and cause power transformer failure.
• 3 PINT (Three patents of the Institute Nikola Tesla) is a technology, for treatment with high oil refining capacity, meets all the mentioned demands. 3 PINT technology is environmentally closed complying with principles of best environmental practice (BEP) and best available technology (BAT) for the application in electrical power, production and distribution industry.
• This technology enables the simultaneous removal of major hazardous compounds in mineral insulating oil: polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), dibenzyl disulfide (DBDS) and elemental sulphur (S8) and produced deeply refined non-corrosive oils free of PCB, DBDS and S8.
• Technology is based on two background patents (RS 53510 and RS 59335) and new patent application from 2023, approved for registration in the UK, which strengthens 3 PINT commercialization potential in the domain of silver corrosion.
