History
Testing and calibration of electrical measuring instruments is one of the annual routine jobs at the Institute with the longest history. According to the relevant legal restrictions, this work underwent a number of technical, technological, and formal status phases.
The Laboratory held the status of Accredited Laboratory for Testing Measuring Instruments with a Temporary Decision on Accreditation issued by JUAT from 2001 to 2007 and Authorized Laboratory for Testing and Verification of Measuring Instruments from 1995 to 2001.
The second recognized laboratory for carrying out calibration work in Serbia was granted accreditation by the Accreditation Body of Serbia in May 2007 and was given the accreditation number 02 -002 in accordance with the SRPS ICO IEC 17025:2006 standard. On May 28, 2011, accreditation with number 02-002 lost its validity. The laboratory renewed its certification in 2011 under the new number 02-045, and the new accreditation decision is effective as of September 8, 2011. The laboratory has received accreditation four times so far, and in 2020 it will begin receiving accreditation in accordance with the SRPS ICO IEC 17025:2017 standard, which is the most recent edition.
Primary activity
According to the decision on establishing the accreditation's scope, the Specialized Calibration Laboratory is authorized to perform calibration work in the following areas:
- calibration of DC and AC voltage meters: voltmeters, multifunction meters, measuring sources, measuring accessories, voltage transformers;
- calibration of direct current and alternating current meters: ammeters, multifunctional meters, measuring sources, measuring accessories, current transformers;
- calibration of electrical resistance meters: measuring resistors and decades of electrical resistance, ohmmeters, conductivity meters, measuring bridges, multifunctional meters, insulation electrical resistance meters, grounding electrical resistance meters, loop electrical resistance meters, electrical installation protection test meters;
- calibration of electrical capacitance meters: measuring capacitors, decades of electrical capacitance, electrical capacitance meters, multifunctional meters, capacitive voltage dividers, bridges for measuring capacitance;
- calibration of electrical inductance meters: measuring coils, decades of electrical inductance, electrical inductance meters, multifunctional meters, inductive voltage dividers, bridges for measuring inductance;
- calibration of active and reactive electrical power meters: wattmeters, varmeters, power factor meters, phase meters, multifunction meters, maxigraphs;
- calibration of AC and DC electric field meters: devices for measuring AC and DC electric field strength;
- calibration of AC and DC magnetic field meters: devices for measuring AC and DC magnetic field density;
- calibration of time and frequency measures: frequency generators, time period-interval generators, frequency measures, time period-interval measures.
