Nuclear energy is key to the future, but challenges remain

On the RTS program “Jutarnji dnevnik”, Đorđe Lazarević, senior research associate at the Nikola Tesla Institute, was a guest and spoke about the rise of nuclear energy. Global nuclear energy production is expected to reach record levels this year, and given the growing demand for clean energy, Lazarević emphasizes that Serbia, in order to be prepared for future energy challenges, should invest in the development of nuclear science, which would allow the country to seriously consider the possibility of introducing nuclear energy in the future. In light of the increasing demand for clean energy, nuclear energy is becoming a key factor on the global energy scene. However, challenges such as high initial capital costs and construction timelines for power plants remain.
