Nikola Tesla Institute’s TeslaSsorb technology reaches the European market: first deliveries of recycled synthetic ester fluid EOS RePure

TeslaSsorb, a technology developed, patented and implemented by the Electrical Engineering Institute Nikola Tesla, has entered the European market through its first EU partnership, with Electrical Oil Services (EOS).

The first delivery of EOS RePure synthetic ester fluid, treated using our technology, has reached the end customer. As part of this collaboration, the first 50 tonnes of recycled synthetic ester fluid have been produced and supplied to an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

EOS RePure is the first industrial recycling solution for used synthetic ester transformer fluids and the first 100% recycled synthetic transformer oil. The TeslaSsorb technology removes corrosive sulphur and improves key fluid properties so that the fluid meets the IEC 61099 requirements for new, unused synthetic ester liquids. This extends the service life of the fluid and returns material that would otherwise be waste to the value chain.

The project shows that circularity in ester fluids is achievable on an industrial scale, an important step towards a more sustainable power industry. For the Institute, it also marks a significant step in bringing domestic research into industrial practice on the European market.

We thank EOS for their trust and collaboration and look forward to the next phase of our partnership.
